As a young adult, trying to find my way in this world, I began to realize that the more connected I was to nature the better I felt. I began looking to nature for healing and discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM looks at the body as an organic whole. All the component parts are interconnected and seen in relation to its surrounding environment. This framework gives us a chance to view the body as a whole, complete unit; looking at all aspects of a person as pertinent to their health and wellbeing. I find that this way of thought has seeped into the rest of my life... always trying to step back and look at any situation in a complete way rather than allowing specific details to dominate. One of the many things I love about TMC is that it has developed out of a complete reverence and respect for nature. Eating our medicine, living in harmony with the environment, changing with the seasons, balancing the body with herbal medicines are a few ways TCM taps into nature and heal. I am continuously amazed by the ability of this ancient system to heal on a variety of different levels. It is truly not just a medicine, but a way of life that I look forward to sharing with you.
